In 2005, The Real Turkish Delight Company set themselves a challenge to obtain the Guinness World Record for the largest ever Turkish Delight, again.

Claiming the record in 1997 after assembling a 2349.49 kilograms of Turkish delight, Ediz set his sights larger this time around as the title was taken over by a confection company in Cyprus.

Using more than 2000 kilograms of sugar, approximately 480 slabs of sweets were cooked over 3-4 days in Auburn, NSW, the week prior to the record event.

The Real Turkish Delight Company is still to this day the current holder of the title, having produced and assembled a 3.21 tonne slab of Turkish Delight on 7th April 2005.

The record attempt was filmed for the Guinness World Records programme on the Seven Network.
